We all know what a harvest is. It is a time of gathering the crops that have matured enough to be ready to eat or sell. Spiritually, a harvest is a time of gathering the souls that God has brought to Himself. It is a time of joining God in making disciples. As God brings revival to the hearts of His children, we will be in the correct mindset to join Him in the harvest. Our nation, our state, our church, you, and I are in need of a Holy Spirit revival. God has led me to lead our church into 30 Days of Prayer for Harvest leading up to our weekend Harvest Crusade August 3-5, 2012. Our primary focus needs to be on experiencing true revival personally and joining God in making disciples of those around us. This prayer guide is provided to help you prepare for both. Our first day of this prayer guide begins July 8 and continues through the day after our weekend Harvest Crusade ends August 6.

Day 2: July 9, 2012

A US soldierJust as a soldier has certain equipment to wear into combat, I have provided you with special spiritual equipment for your battle as well. No soldier wants to be caught unprepared for an attack, and if you put on My full armor, you will be prepared. I want you to wear truth around you even though you live in a world of lies. Let righteousness cover you in the midst of an unrighteous society. Live with My peace that allows you to stand strong in the chaos surrounding you. Let your faith in Me be your shield of protection. Live with the assurance of My salvation and use My Word as your sword to fight the enemy. As you travel through this world, use the greatest tool and weapon I have provided you—prayer. Pray always, remaining in constant communication with Me, your Commander in Chief.

Ephesians 6:13-18

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth The man in armor. Knight.buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Dear God,

Praying handsAs I come before Your throne, I come aware of my need to be clothed with Your armor. I am Your soldier, and it is only as I pray and allow You to clothe Me in Your protective and powerful armor that I can experience victory today. Use me today, I pray. I am ready to be used by You.
